Why can't I collect my ticket from the departure point?

Since we 'relaxed the rules' about e-Tickets and allowed them to be amended, the number of customers opting to collect their tickets from their departure point has reduced dramatically.

e-Tickets are now as flexible as other types of ticket. They are equally secure, but allow you to print your ticket yourself and keep it with you, rather than having to queue at a ticket office before travel.

In addition, you now receive a security code when you book an e-Ticket, which allows you to access your e-Ticket online and print it out at any time, rather than having to print it at the time of booking.

We have therefore made the decision to remove the collection point option from our booking system, where e-Tickets are available. If the e-Ticket option is not available, however (for example, if one leg of the journey is operated by a third party), the collection option will be offered automatically.
